Trace Adkins may be one of the most consistent country artists of our time, but he feels like his time on the radio airwaves may be fizzling out. In a recent interview with The Toledo Blade, Trace mentioned a conversation he had with Toby Keith, who said to him,
Toby Keith: “One day radio is going to get tired of playing our stuff.” Trace feels like he is“probably there” and has “been for the last three or four years.”
Though, the singer is“not going to be bitter about it.”
His latest album, Love Will… sold 25,000 copies the first week, and the first single, “Watch the World End,” featuring Colbie Caillat, did not do as well on the charts as he had hoped. Trace says “the record really has been a big disappointment for [him],” because he thought“radio would play that single.”
Trace has now focused his attention on wrapping up his first Christmas album, which should be available in October.
