It will be a party with a fiesta flavor this month. With the support of our title sponsors, CF Industries, Main Street Wauchula will be hosting a fiesta themed Friday Night Live on Friday, May 18, 2012. The event will be hosted from 6-9 p.m. and include a live mariachi band, hispanic dance performances, and multiple booths. Main Street stores and restaurants will be open for your shopping and dining pleasure.
Get your running shoes ready because there will also be a 5k that Friday Night Live attendees can participate in. The race will begin at 6 p.m. at the Hardee County Court House parking lot. Pre- registration is through May 5th and costs $20 or $25 for registrations from May 6th through the day of the race. All proceeds support SendMeMission projects and mission trip scholarships. Downtown Wauchula boasts a number of exquisite dining selections varying from JP’s Smokehouse BBQ to Giovanni’s Main Street Kitchen and Java Cafe to Paul’s Kitchen. Also in the mix are two new businesses to the area. The Mexican restaurant and ice cream parlor will have their doors open in celebration of Friday Night Live. Downtown is also the home of a variety of merchants. You are sure to find everything you are looking for. Cross Highway 17 South to find more live entertainment on stage two as well as Cat’s On Main and Jellybeans Children’s Boutique which will remain open extra hours to provide Friday Night Live patrons a pleasant shopping experience.
“I always enjoy the live entertainment and meeting new people in the community,” says Helen, a volunteer for Main Street Wauchula. “I got involved with Friday Night Live when I was looking for volunteer opportunities. I have grown to love the event and enjoy visiting local shops before my shift begins.”
