Country music star Darius Rucker was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday night. Rucker’s invitation came earlier this month from fellow country artist and Opry member Brad Paisley.
Rucker, formerly the lead singer of the rock band Hootie and the Blowfish, made his country debut in 2008 with his album “Learn to Live.”
The country crooner’s debut album included the hit “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” which spent two weeks at the top of the chart. Rucker is the first African-American artist to officially join the iconic radio show’s family since Charley Pride became a member in 1993. The country’s star is set to release his latest album early next year.
