The City of Wauchula will be hosting a guided tour of Peace River Park. The tour is open to the public and will be free of charge. Sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen and water are recommended. The tour will start at 9 a.m. and typically lasts 2 hours. Peace River Park is a 155-acre parcel of land located on the south side of Main Street and on the west side of the Peace River within the Wauchula City limits. Topics of discussion will include plant identification, natives vs. exotics, Peace River, wetlands and flooding. Any questions feel free to call Olivia Minshew at 863-773-9193. Sixteen Hands Horse Sanctuary is opening up their ranch to the public for an Open House event Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring your chair and see horsemanship demos by by James Malcolm, Jade and Prima, and meet and greet horses with Sixteen Hands Horse Sanctuary founder, Robin Cain.
